About the Diabetes National Clinical Network

Diabetes is a leading of death and health problems in Aotearoa New Zealand. It has grown faster than any other health condition in the last 10 years. Diabetes affects Māori, Pacific, Indian, and disabled communities the most.

The goals of the Diabetes National Clinical Network Mahitahi Matehuka are to:

  • focus on the most affected communities to reduce health inequalities
  • improve diabetes care through collaboration and innovation
  • provide workforce resources and training, and promote best practice sharing
  • support and empower whānau with diabetes by listening to them and meeting their needs.
